GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - It looks like state lawmakers have taken the wind out of Greenville’s plan to take down that massive American flag flying at Camping World.
Gov. Josh Stein says he will allow House Bill 926 to become law without his signature.
The bill, which contains mostly regulatory reforms, also includes a provision that prevents local governments from restricting the size of official government flags on private property.
Greenville has cited the RV dealership since January, saying the flag is nearly 15 times the allowable size on non-residential property.
As of last Thursday, the city says Camping World has an outstanding balance of $37,500 in fines.
