CLEVELAND, Ohio - A Cleveland clergyman has been placed on leave after he was charged with soliciting prostitution .
Last week, Lorain County sheriff’s deputies arrested the Rev. Dean Dimon, the presiding priest of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Cleveland, as part of a statewide crackdown on prostitution and human trafficking.
Dimon, 76, of Avon, was charged with soliciting prostitution, a third-degree misdemeanor. He has pleaded not guilty, and his attorney, Brett Murner, declined to comment.
On Monday, Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Pittsburgh Chancellor George Callos called the allegations “deeply disappointing” and announced Dimon would be removed from all pastoral and ministerial duties until the legal process plays out.
