DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A Durham man's $3 Powerball ticket became a $100,000 prize, lottery officials said.

According to the North Carolina Education Lottery, Kenneth Cutshaw Jr. bought his ticket using Online Play for the Sept. 6 drawing. He won $50,000 by matching the numbers on four white balls and the red Powerball, which doubled when the 2X multiplier hit because he purchased a Power Play ticket.

Cutshaw visited lottery headquarters on Monday to collect his prize. He received $71,751 after required federal and state tax withholdings, according to NC Lottery.
