Virginia State Police claim that DNA found at the scene of Sylena Dalton’s murder in 1998 in Strasburg came from the father of her child.

The child, Allyson Dalton, who was 10 weeks old at the time, has been missing since her mother was found stabbed to death on July 27, 1998, and the case went cold.

Police arrested Pompell on Friday. No one has been charged with any crimes related to Allyson Dalton’s disappearance.

Pompell, 56, appeared in Shenandoah County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on Monday
