Human remains found in a Ventura County riverbed were identified as a 21-year-old woman reported missing more than a year ago after she disappeared in the middle of an early summer night from her family's home.

The remains were found Sept. 24 by a conservancy group clearing invasive plants from the riverbed south of the Baldwin Road bridge. They were identified Monday as the remains of Zyanya Valora, who was last seen by family members June 25, 2024 at her Mira Monte home near Ojai.

The cause and manner of death were not determined, pending further investigation.
