ALBANY, New York (WWNY) - Governor Kathy Hochul announced that $25 million has been awarded to help New York’s farmers protect water quality.
The money is going to 50 projects statewide.
Locally, more than $1 million was awarded to the Jefferson County Soil and Water Conservation District to work with three farms in the Black River Watershed.
More than $130,000 was awarded to the Lewis County Soil and Water Conservation District to work with one farm.
Hochul says the money will help make it more affordable for farmers to implement practices to protect water quality.
