BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A student was taken into custody for allegedly making bomb and shooting threats at an IDEA school, the Brownsville Police Department announced.
On Monday, Sept. 29, Brownsville police were made aware of a threat made at IDEA Riverview.
During the course of the investigation, authorities learned that a student had threatened to bomb the school and later threatened to shoot classmates, according to a news release from Brownsville PD.
The student was identified and arrested at his residence.
Brownsville police want to remind the public that threats of violence, even those that are intended as a "joke," will result in consequences.
