CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The Cincinnati Police Department launched the Street Crimes Task Force in June to try to crack down on crime in the city and make residents feel safer.

FOX19 NOW’s Brittany Harry rode along with Cincinnati police Tuesday as the Street Crimes Task Force focused on hot spots in the city, a collaboration Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge said has already proven to be successful in getting offenders off the streets and curbing crime in the community.

“Late June, it was kind of out of necessity that we created this task force. We pulled resources from all four of our districts to create this city-wide task force,” Theetge explained.

The police cruiser’s scanners led us to Elmore and Borden Streets in the city limits, where CPD’s Street Crimes Task Force was searching
