GRAND FORKS — Former UND offensive tackle Matt Waletzko has signed with the Minnesota Vikings, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.
Waletzko, who was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 2022, was signed to the practice squad and is joining the team in England.
Waletzko, a Cold Spring, Minn., native who played high school football at Rocori, was selected by the Cowboys in the fifth round and played 11 games over the past three seasons.
In order to make room for Waletzko, the Vikings released receiver Tim Jones, who had spent time this season on Minnesota's 53-man roster and the practice squad. Jones played six offensive snaps and 25 on special teams.
The Vikings' offensive line coach is Chris Kuper, who has a connection to Waletzko as UND alums.
