Five years on, Brockville remains committed to the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, organizers of the local event said Tuesday.
At the latest Truth and Reconciliation gathering at Hardy Park, there were educational demonstrations, local vendors and speakers who shared Indigenous knowledge and raised awareness around the act of reconciliation.

“We have both Indigenous and non-Indigenous vendors, as well as education sessions from Indigenous grandmothers,” said Bianca Timmerman, who is on the organizing committee. “We also have a self-guided tour of the 94 calls to action along the waterfront.”
One of those Indigenous grandmothers, who was leading a demonstration, is Danka Brewer from Sharbot Lake First Nation.
Her exhibition illustrates the timeline of pre
