SPRINGFIELD — Law enforcement officers on Monday arrested a 19-year-old wanted for a double shooting outside Union Station and on two court warrants, including one related to a carjacking and gun charges.
Malachi Williams, of Springfield, is being charged with two counts of attempted assault and battery with a firearm and carrying a gun without a license, in connection with a shooting that left two people injured on March 25 outside Union Station on Frank B. Murray Street, said Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police Department.
Two juveniles were arrested shortly after the shots were fired. A subsequent investigation into the crime led detectives to identify Williams as a third suspect. Police then received a warrant for his arrest, Walsh said.
