A former children's physician in Western Pennsylvania was sentenced in federal court Tuesday after officials said he was found with explicit videos of young children.

Court papers said Ashok Panigrahy, 54, was sentenced to spend four years in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release, after he was found to have "materials depicting the sexual exploitation of minors." Advertisement

Panigrahy obtained explicit videos of children through online conversations on an encrypted platform, documents stated. The videos depicted young adults and some as young as a toddler.

The videos were said to have been collected in November 2022.

At the time of the incident, officials said Panigrahy was employed as a children's physician in Western Pennsylvania.
