Srinagar, Sept 30: Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) on Tuesday said that the party’s incarcerated Member of Parliament (MP), Baramulla, Er Rashid will begin a two-day hunger strike from Wednesday.
The AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi, in a statement issued here, said Er Rashid has expressed deep concern over the violent incidents in Ladakh and has drawn sharp parallels with the events of August 5, 2019.
Speaking to his family hours before beginning the hunger strike, Er Rashid, according to Nabi, said the loss of lives was painful, adding that violence has no place or justification in any society.
He (Rashid) extended solidarity with the people of Ladakh but reminded them that they had celebrated the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A and the division of Jammu & Kashmir into tw
