CHARLOTTE (CAROLINA SPORTS LIVE) — The Panthers released outside linebacker DJ Johnson on Tuesday, the team announced.

Carolina drafted Johnson in the third-round in 2023 out of Miami. He started in the loss to the Patriots when outside linebackers Patrick Jones II and D.J. Wonnum were inactive.

Johnson played in all four of Carolina’s games in 2025, recording two solo tackles. Last year, he made 19 solo tackles and 25 assisted ones in 14 games, three coming for a loss.

The Panthers also waived injured rookie wide receiver Dalevon Campbell, who left Sunday's game with a hamstring injury and did not return. Campbell, who concluded his college career at South Carolina, did not have any catches against New England and made one tackle on special teams.
