BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WKRN) — The city of Brentwood wants to teach residents how to protect trees on their property.

The Brentwood Tree Board held its first Tree Talks in August, and tomorrow they're hosting another one, this time diving into invasive species that attack native trees and what to look for.

Two forestry experts will be in attendance to show people how to get rid of species that hurt your local trees—things like kudzu and the emerald ash borer.

Tree Board members told News 2 it's important to know how to spot things like those, because the longer they attack your trees, the less likely it is your tree will live.

The City of Brentwood has been awarded the Tree City USA designation many times, and leaders said it's because they invest in programs like this.
