NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- Are you from outside the New York City Tri-State area? You may have a tougher time getting tickets to attend this week's Wild Card series between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox.

The Yankees are restricting American League Wild Card series ticket sales through Ticketmaster to residents of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.

Upon purchasing a ticket on Ticketmaster, the buyer gets this message: "Yankee Stadium is located in Bronx, New York. Sales to this event will be restricted to residents of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Residency will be based on credit card billing address. Orders by residents outside New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania will be canceled without notice and refunds given."
