TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A former Tallahassee teacher is now in state prison for misconduct with a student.
State records show Sophina Webb arrived at the Florida Women’s Reception Center in Marion County on Monday.
Arrest papers say she taught English at a Leon County high school.
She pleaded no contest to exchanging nearly 9,000 sexual text messages with a 15-year-old girl in 2021.
This month, a judge sentenced her to eight years in prison plus seven years of sex offender probation.
Court records show Webb is appealing her sentence.
