DENVER (KDVR) — A man accused of burglary in Winter Park was arrested in Kansas on Sunday.

Grand County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a break-in on Sept. 26, around 4:30 p.m. The call came from a home in the Tabernash neighborhood in the Winter Park Highlands, according to the Grand County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators from the sheriff's office and the Fraser Winter Park Police Department returned to the house on Sept. 27 and were able to identify the suspect as John William Villines, 41, from Missouri.

The agency said that he fled from the home, stole another license plate and then fled from the Grand County Area.

Only a day later, on Sept. 28, the sheriff's office was notified that Villines had been arrested by officers from the Lawrence Police Department in Kansas on
