YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- Young people are learning about the great opportunities available in trade work. It's a great way to get training to be work-ready.
One trade is ready to equip people with all of the tools and skills they need: Union Ironworkers Local 207 -- an important group behind the skeletal structures of steel frames, mill maintenance, bridges and more.
"Business is booming around here," said Rick Green, an apprentice coordinator.
There are numerous projects for ironwork and more coming, such as building the Kimberly-Clark plant and revamping the Foxconn facility.
"It should be very popular because we are estimating being short about 60 iron workers in the next month and a half," said business manager Tony Deley.
