Northern lights could offer another dazzling display this evening in southern Ontario and the northern U.S., according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Parts of Ontario were treated to a show Monday evening (Sept. 29), with several people posting photos and videos in the Ontario Aurora Chasers Facebook group of the northern lights spotted in Georgina, Port Perry, Pickering, Wasaga Beach and other locations.

NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center has indicated moderate geomagnetic storm activity is expected tonight (Sept. 30), causing the aurora to become more active and move further from the poles, potentially becoming visible from the northern edge of the United States.

According to auroraforecast.com , aurora forecast activity is currently elevated.
