BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio —

Justin Dennis, a former Lakota East High School teacher, has been indicted on eight counts of sexual battery, accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student during her senior year in the 2021-22 school year.

Dennis, 42, resigned from the Lakota District on Aug. 11, a week after his initial arrest. During his arraignment, Dennis pleaded not guilty to the charges. Advertisement

Investigators reported that the student claimed she had consensual sex with Dennis multiple times and in various locations, including his classroom, his residence, the parking lot of her workplace in Springdale, and his former residence in Liberty Township.

Dennis taught psychology, economics, and government and served as an advisor for the school's Hope Squad.
