OAKRIDGE, Ore. - According to Rocky Mountain Complex Incident Management Team 1 officials, efforts to manage the Emigrant Fire are transitioning as conditions improve.
Rain and cooler temperatures are helping to dampen vegetation and reduce fire activity, fire management authorities said. The fire perimeter is now in patrol status, with crews focusing on final suppression repairs. Division F is not expected to see further growth, and suppression repairs are underway to clear fuels from roadsides. In Division K, the fire activity has slowed, and heat areas are cooling rapidly. Crews will continue monitoring these areas, and fire suppression repairs have been completed. Rainfall is expected to continue through the week, further aiding firefighting efforts.
