Michigan City's new Majik Faktory aims to be a gym for entrepreneurs.

The nonprofit opened at 1602 Tennessee St. in Michigan City to help aspiring entrepreneurs develop a business, accelerate a startup, hone new skills and learn new things.

The Majik Faktory, at the Nfr Institute of Technology, has more than 10,000 square feet of workspace with tools, 3D printers and other equipment members can use.

"You've got to see it to believe it," co-founder Leslie Samelson said. "We've got a lot of different avenues for individuals who have the passion to create their own business."

Facilities include a commercial kitchen, a woodworking shop, a metal shop and a fabrication shop.
