PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - Jury selection has wrapped up, and the second trial is officially underway for David Frank Martinez, who’s accused of shooting two women and killing one of them.

It happened at the Veteran’s Tavern on Northern Avenue in Pueblo on June 28, 2024.

On Tuesday, 11 News reached out to both the defense and prosecution in this case to see if their strategies for the trial have changed this time around and if the previous mistrial impacts their approach.

However, the defense tells 11 News, because of issues like confidentiality and what is called the rule of professional conduct and pre-trial publicity, they cannot talk to us about that at this time.

We reached out to the district attorney’s office as well, and a representative for them tells 11 News they will let us know
