SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The attorneys for Death Row inmate Ralph Leroy Menzies have filed a motion requesting a new brain MRI.

In a new motion, the defense team for Ralph Menzies is asking for permission to transport him to the University of Utah hospital and for a new MRI of his brain.

Under the filed motion, Menzies' attorneys stated that his health has declined significantly and noted that Menzies "is now almost completely unable to walk, even with the assistance of a walker."

Additionally, the motion stated that Menzies can't dress himself, can't lift his legs to get into bed, and has limited use of his right arm. Reportedly, experts hired by Menzies' legal team have suggested an MRI in order to assess these changes.
