BOSTON —
A nude man who was shot by police last week in Boston's Beacon Hill neighborhood is set to undergo a mental health review following his arraignment on Monday.
Akash Kushwaha, 26, was arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of breaking and entering during the daytime to commit a felony, malicious destruction of property over $1,200, larceny from a building, and indecent exposure.
He is currently being held without bail at Bridgewater State Hospital, where a competency evaluation will take place.
On Sept. 24, Boston Police say Kushwaha tried entering 97 Mt. Vernon Street while in the nude and armed with a large knife around 6 a.m.
Officers could be seen on video at the door of the restaurant with their guns drawn.
