LA PORTE, Ind. — Police in La Porte County are searching for a 68-year-old woman who was last seen Monday night.

State police issued a statewide Silver Alert for Maria Edwards Tuesday evening, saying the La Porte woman was last seen around 10:45 p.m. on Sept. 29. She is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.

Edwards is described as a 5-foot-tall, 110-pound white female with brown hair and hazel eyes. She was wearing a blue zip-up hoodie and blue sneakers. She was possibly wearing blue jeans, police said.

Anyone with information about Edwards or her location is urged to contact the La Porte County Sheriff's Office at 219-326-7700 or call 911.
