FARGO — When the stakes were at their highest, Zoe Keene rose to the challenge.

Four shots down of leader Rose Solberg entering final-round play Tuesday at Fargo Country Club, the West Fargo Sheyenne senior clawed her way back to force a playoff against the Fargo Davies senior to determine this year’s North Dakota Class A girls golf individual state champion.

The competitors — who had jostled for position on the leaderboard for much of their careers — needed two extra holes to decide the champion.
