O'FALLON, Mo. — Baleigh Shanks likes to rock out.

The Fort Zumwalt West junior leadoff hitter confidently strides toward the plate to the song "Walk," a 1992 heavy metal hit from the band Pantera.

The walkup tune is super appropriate.

Shanks not only draws plenty of free passes (11), but she also serves as the engine of an offense that averages 8.6 runs per game.

The 5-footer was at her pesky best Tuesday afternoon, reaching base three times to help the Jaguars to a 7-2 win over Francis Howell Central in a battle of GAC South powers off Mexico Road.

The Jaguars (22-4 overall, 5-3 conference) have won 11 games in a row — their longest streak since a 16-game run from Aug. 28-Sept. 23, 2015.
