BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A job fair turned into chaos on Tuesday after gunshots were reported to Bakersfield police.
Police investigated reports of a shooting in the 3900 block of Sillect Avenue in north Bakersfield on Sept. 30 after crowds gathered and the building was evacuated.
Job seekers waited in line at the "International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers" when they heard gunshots.
"There was a lot of crowding going on so I guess someone pulled a gun, I guess they didn't like that and someone got tackled with the gun," said Andrew Cruz, a job fair attendee. "They disarmed the person. Everyone got in line after that, but they shut the place down."
Police said there was no evidence of a shooting and the investigation is ongoing.
