ST. PAUL (KVRR) — Democrats in Minnesota release their priorities for a special session on gun control.

It comes in the wake of the shooting at Annunciation Church in Minneapolis and the killing of Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband.

Gov. Tim Walz and DFL leaders unveiled a list of reforms which includes bans on assault weapons, high-capacity magazines and binary triggers.

Republicans say their input was not considered.

Republican Floor Leader Harry Niska of Ramsey said in a statement, “Holding up policies that will help keep Minnesotans safe just to push an undefined gun ban is irresponsible.”
