RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) -- Wake County Board of Commissioners Chair Susan Evans presented her annual State of the County address Tuesday, touting some of the county's recent accomplishments, while also highlighting some ongoing challenges.

The county is now home to more than 1.2 million people, with consistent growth as more and more people look to call the Triangle home.

"That brings a lot of great people to our area, it does bring challenges," Evans said.

One of the biggest challenges continues to be housing, she said.

"We have a supply that’s not adequate for our growing community and that is impacting our prices as well as other things," Evans explained.
