MACON, Ga. — In the two years since her son's murder , Erica Williams finds herself asking the same question to help her heal: "What would Cameran do?"

"Or sometimes I find myself in a situation where I'm like, 'Imma do it for Cam'," Williams said.

Cam, or Cameran Williams, was Erica Williams' oldest child. Erica says Cameran was selfless, funny, and above all, a protector to his eight younger siblings and cousins.

"Everybody was crazy about Cameran. Everybody. Especially the little ones," Williams said.

On September 30, 2023 the 19-year-old was shot and killed at a car wash in East Macon, just two days before he was scheduled to leave for Marine Corps Boot Camp, an accomplishment Erica was proud of.
