LAURENS COUNTY, Ga. — West Laurens star running back Ty Cummings couldn't be stopped Friday night and the shat sheet proved it. The senior was explosive. He smashed the state record for rushing yards in a game and left defenses in the dust on Friday.

The senior said "it felt unreal."

Horseshoe Stadium is packed on any given Friday night in the fall. Fans can be seen cheering for the Raiders with a lot of school spirit, but watching Ty Cummings score touchdowns has also become the norm.

Cummings scored eight total touchdowns and rushed from 615 yards on 19 carries, setting the state record for the most rushing yards in a game. West Laurens beat the Baldwin Braves 70-55.
