At the Michigan Media Day practice Tuesday, the voices of players and coaches alike rang throughout Crisler Center. But between the gaps of communication during breaks in the action, there was one familiar voice that often stood out.

That voice was graduate forward Will Tschetter. As players caught a quick rest and the coaches and staff set up for the next drill, the veteran leader was busy calling out his teammates for their lack of effort.

Tschetter’s disapproving attitude toward complacency is a central facet of the Michigan men’s basketball team’s identity. To the Wolverines, effort and toughness is the blueprint for success — and that starts in practice.
