NICOLE Kidman and Keith Urban had lived “separate lives” for three years before she filed for divorce last night citing “irreconcilable differences”.

The actress, 58, had hoped to save their 19-year marriage but country singer Keith, 57, who has battled with drink and drug problems, decided it was over six months ago.

An insider said: “Keith has long had his demons and it was vital to Nicole that he didn’t drink if he was to make their marriage work.”

The couple were barely together as the Oscar winner filmed back-to-back movies while the singer embarked on a world tour.
