Carlton have asked the question of Jamie Elliott as speculation around the Collingwood free agent’s future continues.
The much-loved forward had his best season yet at the age of 33, kicking a monster career-best haul of 60 goals, but contract negotiations have not moved at the pace Elliott would have liked given his form.
Gold Coast have put a three-year offer on the table “with much more money” than the Pies are offering, according to The Agenda Setters ’ Sam Edmund.
Collingwood initially put forward what Edmund termed “a borderline offensive offer” of a two-year deal at just north of $400,000 per season.
Kane Cornes noted that figure would be under the AFL average wage.
