Shana Volk of Towner won the Animal category in the North Dakota Farm Bureau photo contest with this entry, “New life, lasting legacy.”

Two area photographers earned statewide recognition as winners in the 2025 North Dakota Farm Bureau (NDFB) agriculture photo contest.

Emma Rognlien of Minot captured first place in the Lifestyle category with her striking black-and-white image of a young cowboy on horseback. Titled “Pulling his weight at family branding,” the photo reflects the grit and tradition of ranch life on the plains.

Shana Volk of Towner took top honors in the Animals category with her warm, light-filled photograph of a calf resting in the hay. Her entry, “New life, lasting legacy,” emphasizes the simple beauty of farm life and the promise carried by each new generation.
