New Delhi: Zoho’s latest messaging app “Arattai” has initiated fresh language debates online. The name which refers to “banter” in Tamil was promoted as a domestic alternative to Meta’s WhatsApp. While netizens appreciated the new app, many claimed it sounded too regional.
Within three days, the audience of the app grew from 3,000 users to over 3.5 lakh users. The app, which has already become a strong competitor, is now the talk of the town. Many took to social media to state their opinions on the app and its name. Many claimed that the name wasn’t catchy and was too hard to pronounce.
