Police in Mwanza district have arrested a 20-year-old father, Timothy Ntaba, on suspicion of having sex with a 14-year-old girl.

Mwanza police spokesperson Hope Kasakula said the man was renting the girl’s father’s house and was in a relationship until the man became suspicious of his behavior and approached the man and questioned him.

He admitted to the relationship but denied having sex with the girl, prompting the man to take his daughter to Mwanza General Hospital where tests confirmed that the girl had been raped.

Ntaba hails from Sudala village in the Kanduku district and is expected to appear in court soon.
