EL CENTRO — The Imperial Irrigation District (IID) Board of Directors took formal action Tuesday, adopting a resolution to proclaim a local emergency in Imperial County following the widespread destruction caused by Tropical Storm Mario.
The move is a critical step to secure state disaster assistance and mitigate the financial impact on customers for the extensive repairs needed to the energy infrastructure.
