TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA)—Hurricane Imelda is expected to bring hurricane-force winds, waves, and flash flooding to Bermuda today, while Hurricane Humberto continues to bring dangerous surf and rip currents across the western Atlantic coastline, the National Hurricane Center said.

Located about 455 miles west-southwest of Bermuda, Imelda is moving toward the east-northeast at about 20 mph.

A faster east-northeast to northeast motion is expected over the next few days.

According to the NHC, the core of Imelda will be near Bermuda this afternoon or evening before moving away from the island by Thursday afternoon.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to 90 mph, and Imelda is expected to be a category 2 hurricane when it passes close to Bermuda today.
