A giant pop of bubble gum colors has appeared on Summers Street, with Charleston’s newest mural, “Forever Friends.”
The 30-by-45-foot mural — at 400 Summers St., on a City of Charleston-owned parking garage attached to the former Park Place Stadium — was designed and painted by Patch Whisky, a Princeton native now based in Charleston, South Carolina. Whisky has painted murals all over the country, including some recently in Bluefield and Princeton. This is his first piece in Charleston.
Whisky used a few hundred cans of spray paint to cover the wall in about 10 days with his signature characters and colors, such as the Rainbow Monster, the largest creature on the design.
“He’s kind of a signature character of mine,” Whisky said. “He’s kind of like a legend or a folklore in my world.”
