INDIANAPOLIS – A man was injured in an early morning shooting on the east side of Indianapolis.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched at 1:13 a.m. Wednesday to the corner of 20th Street and Bosart Avenue where they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was taken to an area hospital and underwent surgery.

The investigation is in its early stages and IMPD didn’t have much information about the circumstances leading to the shooting.

Officers were talking to residents and looking for doorbell camera footage to learn more about what happened.
