Hamilton County's seasonal burn ban begins Wednesday, October 1.

Those who wish to burn may apply for a seasonal burn permit through the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Air Pollution Control Bureau.

A permit will allow residents to burn brush and vegetation on their property.

Permits will last from October 1 through April 30, 2026.

You can apply for a burn permit online , in person at the CBL Center II, or by phone at 423-643-5970.

There is a $60 fee to obtain a permit to burn inside the city limits of Chattanooga, Collegedale, East Ridge, Red Bank or Ridgeside. You must also have an inspection by a Bureau investigator.

There is a $10 fee for all other Hamilton County residents.

Hamilton County 911 says this yearly seasonal burn ban was established in 2005 under the Early Action C
