Banks across India will remain closed for 21 days in October 2026 due to major festivals, regional occasions, and national holidays. Banks typically remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, as well as on all Sundays. Most importantly the banks are shut across India on October 2.

However, the holiday schedule varies from state to state, so customers are advised to plan their visits and banking transactions accordingly.

Multiple holidays lined up for Durga Puja and Diwali

There will be nationwide bank closures on 6 days out of 30 in April. This includes a national holiday on Oct 2 and well as the usual weekend holidays. The month begins with Navratri and Durga Puja festivities. Banks in several states will remain closed in the first week of October.
