Cuttack: After Durga Puja light gate collapse near College Square, the festive atmosphere in Odisha’s City was marred by another mishap at Rajabagicha near Badambadi Square where a section of the ceiling at a local puja mandap collapsed, injuring three individuals.

According to sources, a two-foot section of the ceiling, which was supporting bamboo poles that held up the decorative front gate of the pandal, suddenly caved at around 2 pm as heavy rain and strong winds lashed the city. The debris fell directly onto devotees standing beneath, injuring two women and a man. ADVERTISEMENT

The Rajabagicha Puja Committee member along with locals immediately rushed the injured to SCB Medical College and Hospital.

Meanwhile, police have cordoned off the pandal and restricted entry of devotees.
