CENTRAL FALLS – Of a pool of 27 candidates expressing interest in running for the new nine-member Central Falls School Board in July, eight finalists will be narrowed down to four appointed seats next month.
Mayor Maria Rivera and the City Council will interview and select the four candidates during the council’s Nov. 10 meeting, said city spokesperson Sarah Dell.
Meanwhile, residents will get to vote on Tuesday, Nov. 4 for four elected candidates out of five who met the requirement of obtaining 200 signatures, Dell added.
Lastly, one final school board seat will be appointed by the state, making it a total of nine members.
