KALAMAZOO, MI — Three candidates are vying for the two-year job as mayor of Kalamazoo. Voters will choose just one.

Incumbent Mayor David Anderson faces challengers Chris Glasser and Robert Gray for the seat on the Kalamazoo City Commission.

The election is Tuesday, Nov. 4.

All three raise concerns about housing, homelessness and safety in the Kalamazoo community. Each brings their own perspective on the right way to address these key issues.

Anderson, 74, served as a city commissioner for 12 years, vice mayor for two years and mayor for the last six years.

He works as the director of housing facilities at Integrated Services of Kalamazoo and serves on several city, county and nonprofit boards in the Kalamazoo community.
