FOXBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — A Foxboro police officer is being commended for his quick thinking that saved a man from a burning car.
Patrolman Brendan Fayles was given the Life Saving Award from his department on Tuesday.
On July 25, Fayles responded to South Street for a report of a car that had crashed into a home and caught fire.
"Cars catch fire really quickly," Fayles said. "Once it starts smoking, you have a matter of seconds before it fully engulfs."
Bodycam footage shows Fayles running toward the car, smashing the window and dragging the driver to safety.
